Today, Friday July 30, 2004, Jim died at twelve o'clock noon, with his family around him. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at four o'clock at All Saint's Lutheran Church in Phoenix. Mary and Jeremy have posted pertinent information on this web site.

Jim has been amazing. It takes a lot of courage to deal with all of this ignobility with such equanimity. I have been awed and humbled by his graciousness. He faced death with the same dignity and grace that he lived his life. I am so appreciative of the kind of person he has consistently been throughout his life and how blessed I am to have had him in my life for thirty-five years. We are reminded that each day is precious and I am full of thankfulness. I am also awed by the gentleness and loving devotion of all of our children, Betty and David, Jeremiah, and Mary and Jeremy, these past weeks especially. We have been blessed. Thank you for thinking of us and keeping us in your prayers.
